Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Tapping into the emotional core, but not quite far enough

Having not read the book, I found myself struggling to become a part of the story. Missing structural elements (like the ever important Obstacle Character) make it difficult for newcomers to engage emotionally with the story. The 3rd film was far more effective.
