Understanding the role of the Obstacle Character in a Story
In an effort to make it even easier for writers, the latest version of Subtxt offers a discrete reminder about the Obstacle Character:
This should help avoid the unfortunate pitfall of writing the Obstacle Character as if he or she is a Main Character in their own story. Previous versions of Subtxt omitted the helper text "influences by," leaving those new to Subtxt and Dramatica confused as to the role of this character in their story.
This latest update removes all doubt: the Obstacle Character influences--whether directly, or indirectly.
